.CO.NO Sunrise Now Open

23rd November 2010

The new .CO.NO extension is aimed at international users who want their Internet addresses to end in "no", but with additional flexibility. While CO.NO is not meant to replace .No, it can however be a valuable alternative in some cases. If you are a holder of an International Trade mark, you could benefit from calling our Domain Name Management team to discuss how we can help manage your application.

Please note that the domain name will consist in the registration of a .CO.NO subdomain (xxxx.co.no) by CoDNS B.V., a private company totally independent from NORid, the official Authority for the Norvegian domain name extension “.NO”. NORid is therefore not responsible for the registration or the servicing of .CO.NO subdomains by CoDNS B.V.

Get Localised Internationally

20th May 2010

If you own a .com or a .net Domain we can register it in any language you require, meaning that your customers can find you and truly connect with you whatever language they speak; so whether it’s Arabic or Chinese name characters, your customers will view your Domain name in the language they want.

In order to register an Internationalised Domain Name (IDN), the original name must first be converted into Punycode so that when your Domain name is viewed by customers they'll see if represented in the right language. Some browsers are still in the process of being updated and will still show the Punycode, but this issue will shortly be resolved so now is the time to plan your registrations.

Increasing numbers of our clients are receiving unsolicited third party emails from the Far East coercing them to buy international Domains. These alarming emails create such impact that you may feel pressured into reactively purchasing at a high cost rather than protecting your brand online with a controlled and planned strategy.

Most emails declare they are from a professional ‘Intellectual Property Rights’ organization and claim to have received a request from a potential customer to register multiple Domain names identical to yours (in various different extensions or an ‘internet brand’ - sometimes referred to as ‘internet keywords’).
